Led by Warts and All Theatre’s Artistic Director Christopher Elmer-Gorry, these groups will explore the craft of making and/or performing a brand new play.
Experience is useful, but not essential!
It’s for the ‘trained’ and ‘un-trained’ artists to come together and develop their craft, whilst learning and growing as a collective.
Our Collective sessions take place at Foodies.rocks, Derngate, Northampton.
The Collective: Performers
Tuesdays 7-9pm (£65 a term)
You might fancy yourself as a writer, you might be a 'trained actor' or maybe you’ve always thought about directing. Led by Warts and All Theatre’s Artistic Director Christopher Elmer-Gorry, you will explore the craft of making a brand new play. During 2016-2017 The Collective developed ideas for new plays and were presented to an audience at our Scuff Night at Foodies.rocks. The audience voted on their two favourite plays, these two plays will be developed and performed in 2017-2018 by The Collective:Performers.
7.00-9.00pm (2 hour session)
£65 a term (Bursaries may be available)
The Collective: Makers
First Sunday of every month 4-6pm (£65 for 10 sessions)
This group is for anyone who has an idea for a play. You might be an actor, writer, director, or theatre maker. You might have never written a play ever, but want to have a go! This group meets monthly and over the course of the academic year they work on writing activities, share their ideas and develop a 10-15 minute extract of their own play.
A selection of these extracts will be selected by Warts and All Theatre for our Scuff Night in the Summer of 2018. The extracts will be performed by The Collective:Performers and the audience will vote on which ideas will be developed into full productions by Warts and All Theatre in our 2018-2019 season.
First Sunday of every month (October 1st, 5th November, 3rd December, 7th January, 4th February, 1st March, 4th April, 6th May, 3rd June, 1st July.)
4-6pm (2 hour session)
£65 for the year (Bursaries may be available)
